[Drama-Committee] Knew I forgot something...
Sorry- forgot something earlier... Alan Flanaghan is back and he's ready for DRAMA. He's written a murder mystery play and he wants to know if we can put it on. He'd direct it and all that jazz. I read the first half and it's really excellent- its an excellent piece of writing! So here's our layout for next semester... W1 - Three days of Rain/ Auditions/ Workshop / Auditions for Alan's Play W2 - 36HR Show/ Workshop/ Auditions for Alan's Play W3 & W4 - Bagpacks/ Theatre Trip/ Workshop W5 - Iago/ Workshop W6 - ISDA's/ Workshop W7 - King Lear W8 - (Break) W9 - Full Monty W10 - Clubs & Socs Awards W11 - Variety Show (Bics)/ Alan's Play W12 - DADA's This gives Alan loads of time to find a cast and rehearse for week 11- and should any of them be cast in the Musical it gives them a week between the end of the musical and week 11. A suggestion thrown in was that maybe we should do week 11 like this.... Mon to Wed- Alan's show Thurs - Variety Show What do you guys think? I think its completely do-able, but thats just my opinion... let me know. Steve -- Stephen Grimes AP2 Rep DCU Drama Chair 085 7079768 55456550

Hey, Fine by me. I would ask that auditions finish up by about seven though, in light of the fact that Three Days of rain will be kicking off at 7:30 each night. It's be kind of shooting ourselves in the foot if we were to schedule auditions at a time when we have a show running in the moderately expensive Helix. Jamie has already said that auditions will be finished by 6:30 on the Wednesday which means that auditionees can still make it to Three Days that evening. One other thing, when Barry Bracken was auditioning Lear, he was a little disheartened when so many people chose to try out for the panto instead. Maybe Alan would have a better turn-out if he auditioned at a time that doesn't coincide with musical try-outs? Hope you're all well, Joey On 1/21/07, Stephen Grimes <stephen.grimes5@gmail.com> wrote:
