[Drama-Committee] Interfaith issues
Hi Denise, I'm aware you've heard about the scheduling conflicts with the Interfaith piano on Tuesdays, and I think I have sourced a solution to keep everyone happy. I am aware you use that piano for choir and lessons, and, as you know, the DCU Drama musical rehearsals are beginning in earnest next week. Our MD and Piano player has been using a high quality 5 octave keyboard, which is fantastic for most applications, but unfortunately is not at all useful for dance rehearsals or full score playing, and the keyboard cannot deliver enough whack to be heard loudly when one has 30+ people performing dances and such madness. I know that you have been understandably reliant on this piano since the unfortunate death of the SPC PA, and are currently awaiting a replacement. Thus, I have proposal that may alleviate both our problems; How about we give you our keyboard for the next four weeks, and book a room of your choosing for Tuesdays? That way, music soc will have the interfaith on Mondays and still have a viable alternative to the Interfaith piano on Tuesdays for the next month. I know it is an inconvenience, but as you know we share a pool of membership and this I think is best for both, with no one losing out. Also, the musical has a bloody huge cast and relatively short time frame in which to make them sing, dance and act well enough to entertain crowds! People reply to me as soon as you can, and DCU Drama would be very grateful if you would allow us this small incontinence for the greater benefits to society life, to which we know music soc are huge contributors. Yours, David Grimes. Vice Chair, DCU Drama ~Non Curo Hombre.. Si Mentrum non habet, non est Poema!~
