Hi everybody and welcome to GlobaLinks!! You will all be delighted to hear that we got over 250 members on Wednesday. For those who didn't manage to sign up yet, you can still do so on Monday and Tuesday between 12-2 at the ticket desk just inside the door of The Hub. Don't forget to tell all your friends to come along and sign up. The very first Globalinks event will be taking place this Tuesday October the 10th. We really hope that you will all be there to join in the fun. It is a night out in the Dublin Brewing Company. Firstly there will be a tour of the brewery, and you will see how the beer is made. Very educational! Then we will spend the rest of the evening drinking as much of that beer as we possibly can! Tickets will cost £16 for members and £18 for non members! It should actually work out to be a pretty cheap night of drinking and debauchery. Remember everything is paid for in advance so we'll have nothing to be worrying about except the amount of alcohol we can consume. Tickets go on sale Monday and Tuesday from 12-2. We can only take the first 60 people that sign up, so make sure you buy your tickets as early as possible! We will be meeting outside the Jervis Street Shopping centre in the city centre at 6.30pm sharp. If you don't know where this is don't worry, as we'll explain how to get there when you buy your tickets. From there we will be walking to the brewery which is nearby and the drinking is due to begin at 7pm. Another event planned is our weekend away to Kilkenny. This will take place the weekend of the 4th and 5th of November. Kilkenny is a beautiful irish city with lots to see and do. We will have a guided tour of the city and the famous Kilkenny Castle. We also plan to visit an adventure centre where you will get to try your hand at some crazy activities including quad-biking and clay-pigeon shooting, not to mention the nighttime activities!!! We are also planning regular conversation evenings in the bar and we will tell you exactly when in our next email. We are in the process of allocating tandem partners to you all and hope to have that finalized by next week. Hope to see you all Monday and Tuesday when you're getting your tickets.
