HI all just a short note, in case you haven't heard yet about our upcoming events this week : 1. Wed night - all meet in Matt Wheldons (same place as before) at 7.00, leaving there at 8.00 pm SHARP for Planet Murphys(The Palace) on Camden Street for a night of drinking, dancing and ?????? 2. Kilkenny trip takes place this weekend.Buses Leaving DCU at 10.00 SHARP. Cost £16. Includes : buses there and back, accomodation in youth hostel in Kilkenny, walking city tour of Kilkenny, tour of Kilkenny castle, and entrance to Jerpoint Abbey. If you are interested in coming along, be at the ticket/info kiosk in the hub at 12.00 on Wednesday to sign up. Places are bound to fill up quickly so get there early. Hi everyone Just to let you guys know the plans for the coming week · Wednesday November 1st Clubbing in city-centre 7pm: Meeting in the Matt Weldon's (aka The Slipper) opposite DCU 8pm: Leaving for Planet Murphy's/ The Palace (Camden de Luxe Hotel on Camden Street) · Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th November "Cultural" Trip to Kilkenny!!! Departure from DCU 10am Saturday to return circa 5pm Sunday. Bus transport provided & overnight accommodation in a city-centre hostel. Weekend activities to include: · Tour of Kilkenny Castle. · Guided walking tour of Kilkenny city. · Trip to Jerpoint Abbey and guided tour. · Lots of fun, games and drunken debauchery Tickets for the Kilkenny trip will be onsale at the ticket desk in the Hub on Wedesday and Thursday from 12-2. [Globalinks-other] GlobaLinks-slight change of plan!!!

Hi everybody and welcome to GlobaLinks!! You will all be delighted to hear that we got over 250 members on Wednesday. For those who didn't manage to sign up yet, you can still do so on Monday and Tuesday between 12-2 at the ticket desk just inside the door of The Hub. Don't forget to tell all your friends to come along and sign up. The very first Globalinks event will be taking place this Tuesday October the 10th. We really hope that you will all be there to join in the fun. It is a night out in the Dublin Brewing Company. Firstly there will be a tour of the brewery, and you will see how the beer is made. Very educational! Then we will spend the rest of the evening drinking as much of that beer as we possibly can! Tickets will cost £16 for members and £18 for non members! It should actually work out to be a pretty cheap night of drinking and debauchery. Remember everything is paid for in advance so we'll have nothing to be worrying about except the amount of alcohol we can consume. Tickets go on sale Monday and Tuesday from 12-2. We can only take the first 60 people that sign up, so make sure you buy your tickets as early as possible! We will be meeting outside the Jervis Street Shopping centre in the city centre at 6.30pm sharp. If you don't know where this is don't worry, as we'll explain how to get there when you buy your tickets. From there we will be walking to the brewery which is nearby and the drinking is due to begin at 7pm. Another event planned is our weekend away to Kilkenny. This will take place the weekend of the 4th and 5th of November. Kilkenny is a beautiful irish city with lots to see and do. We will have a guided tour of the city and the famous Kilkenny Castle. We also plan to visit an adventure centre where you will get to try your hand at some crazy activities including quad-biking and clay-pigeon shooting, not to mention the nighttime activities!!! We are also planning regular conversation evenings in the bar and we will tell you exactly when in our next email. We are in the process of allocating tandem partners to you all and hope to have that finalized by next week. Hope to see you all Monday and Tuesday when you're getting your tickets.
