Hello Ryan

I am one of the instructors in DCU karate club and we would be interested in supporting the day. A few of us were  at the event last year as member of the public.

For the demo wed suggest we do it in a particular time slot in the afternoon  or maybe two time slots or about 20 minutes duration each.

DCU is part of the Irish Shotokan Institute which has 3 clubs: DCU, UCD and Tanden Karate Clubs.

We have  4 senior grades (3rd Dans) so far who have confirmed they would be available that day  and we will get more volunteers from accross the clubs  over the next week or so.

Could you confirm the time that the event starts.

Regards

Neville

> Hello! I'm Ryan from DCU Japanese society!
>
> On April 17th there will be a cultural event called Experience Japan Day,
> which is taking place in Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park.
> At this event there will be traditional Japanese arts, as well as modern day
> cultural activities, but most importantly...Martial Arts displays! At the
> moment we've lined up Judo, Aikido and Kendo demonstrations, but this year
> we'd really like a Shotokan Karate demonstration. As a 2nd purple belt in
> Shotokan Karate myself (and former JKS Ireland Champion), I know that
> Shotokan Karate is one of the more adrenaline-pumping Martial Arts out
> there!
> It would be great if you guys could round up a few troops for a Kata
> Demonstration which will be on the main stage at Experience Japan Day. In
> return you can put up loads of DCU Karate advertising around the event, you
> will also be allowed free admission to the event, and of course the
> satisfaction of performing kata in front of 20,000 people and in the process
> inspiring many people to take up the art!
> If you could get back to me relatively soon that'd be great, we're looking
> for a group of about 8 people for the demonstration,
> Cheers,
