[Karateclubstudents] DCU Karate club update: Competition and Grading
Hi everyone Hope to see you all back training this week. Dont worry if youve missed a few sessions training for all grades on Monday and wendesday at 7pm and Saturday at 11am for those whove graded already. Weve a busy schedule for the next month. * -Dublin Universities Challenge Cup: 24th Nov* Weve a compeitition organised with the other Dublin universities on the 24th in UCD. This is ideal for people whove only started karate and youll be competing aginst others who have the same level of experience. There are two type of competition. Sparring which is semi contact (light touch. Its very safe and very controlled) and Kata which is where you do a set sequence of moves and get judged on your performance. Well be covering both at tonights session so itll be a bit of fun. The competition is for students and those who have graduated within the last year. (Anyone else interested in competitions let me know as they are on regularly in the Dublin area) -*DCU Karate Club Grading: 3rd Dec* For those who are training regularly and those who will train approx 2 a week for the next 3 weeks there is a grading on the 3rd Dec. This will allow the new members to test for their orange belts and for other grsades to progress also. This is a formal test of the techniques we've been teaching you since the classes started in October so if your training regularly youll be fine. Just let me know if your interested at class. The Karate Club will be in touch seperately about social activities they are planning. Neville Instructor
