[the President is] to look after the running of the club... . the basic management functions of PLANNING, LEADERSHIP, ORGANISATION AND CONTROL come into play. My opinion is that you didn't not excercise planning, leadership or organisation for the good of the society; and did not excercise control.
So I wish to put a motion of no confidence in Aidan Delaney at the EGM. Aidan should have never lefted his head in this argument about me resigning. It's the classic of the the kettle calling the pot black. Sorry sexy but say good bye to your newly acquire position of Acting Vice-Chair and probably your our position on the committee. By the time you wish to raise that the committee may have already been sorted out.
And Darragh, you have every right to request a motion of noconfidence. On Wednesday the 13th. And anyway, as Aidan has said he does not wish to be the considered for any executive committee position. And you cannot request a motion of no-confidence in an acting position. It just doesn't make any sense. So you would need to have arguments to show that Aidan would not make a good non-exec sysadmin.
The issue is the formal complaint, brought upon by the actions of Sargon and aided by you, Darragh. This is what the society has to face.
This is rapidly devolving into a petty squabble. Can both of you please stop? This is supposed to be a discussion group for saving society ass, not drivel.
This is an argument between me, you and Aidan Delany. It currently involves nobody else. It is not a petty squabble. This is using me to make the 2 of yous look like saviours of the society, such bullshit. It involves everybody on this list as it is being broadcast to them all. I don't give a damn what people think of me if I can get this society up and running again. If everyone thinks I'm an evil canniving backstabbing git and the society gets back up and running I DON'T CARE.
My resignation was for all the wrong reasons I quoted in that letter. The fact that I had not resigned and David Barrett immediately got stuck the Chairperson made me fairly pissed off. Jesus, thank god you have never probably worked on a ship, because they call what you did mutiny. Darragh, ask anyone else who was there at that meeting and they will say that you said you resigned.
I was not consulted on the issues involved, one fucking committee meeting which was fairly lead by Aidan Delaney. With everbody else pretty much agreeing with what he said. And I did not even know the meeting was one until I walked in on top of on my way to get lunch. It was an informal go-and-get meeting... and it was an emergency, plain and simple. We couldn't find you Darragh, and you didn't want to stay. The moment minds was unplugged JC talked to Bart, who got Aidan; they got me; we all went looking for everyone else.
There is no point in disagreeing with good ideas Darragh.
My food is more important that some society to me, thats why I did not want to be there. You were the chair, Darragh. I haven't slept more than 4 hours since this whole mess began. My sleep is less important than fixing this mess. I would have hoped that you would have felt the same about this society, instead of drawing the whole situation up as some planned attack on YOU.
I resigned because of the backstabbing, Aidan Delaney and David Barrett went over to Noel Hogan after I said I would not resign until I talked to Stephen Brown, but those 2 got a letter of Noel Hogan asking me to resign saying it was for the good of MiNDS>. Stephen Brown was asked by James Cotter after me consulting with James Cotter over the matter of my resignation and James Cotter came back to me and said Stephen Brown said I should not hand it a letter a resignation until I had spoken to Stephen Brown, but it was too late as I had given the letter to Bart Busschots and Noel Hogan who were looking for me. Darragh, you said in your letter of resignation that the reason you did it was for the good of the society. If it was because you thought you were being backstabbed you should have written it in there.
In the opinion of alot of third parties Noel Hogan should have supported whatever action I took, after the SU asking for the Department of Finance's communication system to be blocked by all of the students of the college. Sorry about if this interferes in his political life but I have smaller and more personnal concerns to deal with rather than some politican. Somehow, I don't think that Noel would have seen holding you up as some holy light while depriving every member of the society, including yourself, of Minds machine access; was a good idea.
Any opinion stated above is mine. That's a given. Why this addendum?
