we're great? meeting then there is no point in having a meeting at all. Okay, you have said before that it was going to be informal
What is the meeting for then? Because if it's not a ?Hi, we're Minds, and therefore, all we need to do is sit down and have a chat with them. No. We need to make them think we're great, or at least make some headway towards that goal. Thats better done with a chat than an all out war which is what you are making it sould like Dave Nope. I never said our conversation with the CC was like an all out war.
you honestly get caught up in a load of BS dave and you really need to sit down and think about it! Pardon? You are making mountains out of molehills! This meeting is *VERY IMPORTANT*.
The first step to making them allies, is making them friends! Which is what we must do! I *still* don't understand why you can't see this is a public relations exercise, and therefore within the portfolio of the PRO... regardless of whether or not Kevin finally attends.
you make it sound like its an all out war on them! No, I've never tried that.
<We must make them think Minds is Great> how? brainwashing! No, by reasoned argument.
they have a lot to get over and to do this we need to meet them on a friendlier pitch. Yes, like a chat.
I think that all the power has gone to your head! Yes you are the Chair of Minds, That does not mean that you get to make all the decisions yourself and to tell you the truth, Im a little tired of your almighty rule. If I recall correctly, people are also awfully tired of my habit of calling meetings. Thats the first ive heard about that! It's not the first *I've* heard about it! I've heard about it all year!
I wasnt tired of the meetings they were the best way to talk things out! My opinion exactly.
If anything its a chance for them to tell us what they are not happy about and for us to do the same for them. The attitude that this is a big public relations thing is total BS and over the top totally! It isn't. Dave, its not endoctrination that this meeting is about! I would have thought that we want to bring them round to our way of thinking, and our idealogy... and I believe they already have a similar beliefs with regards to the use of computers, but they don't trust us. We must therefore convince them we are trustworthy... and it would *really help* further relations if we convinced them we were great.
its not going to be done in an instant! I never said it was.
we arent going to walk in and say minds is great because ... 1... 2...3 and they are not going to say WOW we never thought of that before! Wow lets put you back up now! and walk out of there best of friends and thats basically what you are saying will happen with this or at least thats the impression that you are giving! Please read what I have said... particularly the second clause of: "We need to make them think we're great, or at least make some headway towards that goal."
I told you before that you jump to conclusions, and you just accused me of jumping to conclusions about you jumping to conclusions! Then you go and admit it yourself! Please explain. I said before to you that you jump to conclusions and then you replied that i was jumping to conclusions about you jumping to conclusions! You've just repeated yourself... you haven't explained.
and a few posts ago you admitted that you tend to address what you think that they are going to say! hense jumping to conclusions! Is this the post which bore the footer "This is a joke"?
Dave, when youre going to the meeting, no jolt cola please! Im begging you!! and dont try and think of what they are going to say. Stay in the present and address what they are actually saying! I'm afraid I *have to* think of what they are going to say, and prepare for any statement. I will only reply with such when relevant.
I am dissapointed with this attitude. Quite frankly, it is destructive. This list is here for discussion of Minds business, not to insult people. Stating a fact is not insulting people but if i insulted you i apologise! But insulting people is.
I still say that Des would be a better choice! Please, explain why. I'm not saying ?Explain why, because you're wrong? but rather ?Explain why?. If I am mistaken, please show me how. understood! I feel that des is a more levelheaded person than kevin who can tend to get up in a heap sometimes with what i think that he feels they are saying rather than what they are saying! Des appears to think about what is being said and address that. This is my personal opinion. hense i think that des would be better for this meeting Thank you for explaining. That was what I was asking for, for quite some time.
