A bit of both. We can assign bits and take bits. We should also propose some ideas.
A few paragraphs on the following would be cool. In fact I'll start harrassing people on the newsgroups now :)
Cool beans on that, well done!
- "Generations" section: 2-page spread for each gen? In 'collage' style..
What does a "collage" mean?
As drusilla said - sort of bits & pictures/posters/photos, a "best of" almost. Perhaps fleshed out with detail on another two pages or something.
- "Encyclopedia" section: this could be quite bulky actually, hmm
The encyclopedia needs editing and updating.
I liked your idea to dump this book back into the encyclopedia when it's all done.
- "Corporate" section: What redbrick members are doing in businesses
I saw piero there the other day in the SBP, he's got his own company or something. It might be worth having a list of companies owned by (ex-)brickies.
* Piero owns Terminal Four ("T4") - bubble and moridin work there. * Phil/Noelfitz/Mark used to run www.rfc-networks.ie. * Hyper/Thalia used to run Eolach. * Kyper/some-other-brickies run a hosting company of some description. (we won a prize at the table quiz for a year's free hosting with them! suggestions or ideas for that welcome - maybe we could host the online redbrick anniversary book on it ;-)). They're all the companies I know of. Cokane's "inventory" on redbrick.jobs of what companies people work for isn't a bad idea.
Oh, I've got more stuff for your redbrick collage at home, I found more posters at home over the weekend.
Had forgotten about that collage! Great stuff, thanks. Also - I spent about 15 minutes looking for a piece that Alan Smeaton wrote in favour of Redbrick (when we were applying to DCU for the server room). Couldn't find it. Think it's at home on my laptop. I'll post it up when I find it, cos it was great. I also have all the emails from my two years on committee (received & sent), so will trawl through them.
