Anyone who has yet to do their pool test or who still needs to make up some training sessions should come so we can get you all signed off. The following people have replied to say they will be going on the snorkel weekend from 19th – 21st February: Guinan, Alice Clarke, Paul Coyne, Martin Daniel Morrow Evguenie Aoibheann Lorcan Roisin John Needham Katya Mariana Ana John Leyden Dave Walsh Anja Martin Schulz I need to know by this Monday if anyone else is interested in coming as I have to confirm with the owner. The more people that reply the better any additional accommodation will be (ie. – mattresses, cottage or lodge). Finally some members have yet to complete their annual medical disclaimer on the CFT COMS website. Just log in using your CFT# and password (https://members.cft.ie/mms); click on Annual Medical Disclaimer on the left handside and fill in your doctor’s details. This applies to new and returning members. While you’re there, take a look around at courses etc….. See you at the pool this evening Kind Regards, Alice Guinan Mentoring Programmes & Individual HRD Supports Enterprise Ireland East Point Plaza East Point Business Park Dublin 3 01 727 2567 _____________________________________________ From: Guinan, Alice Sent: 30 December 2010 18:17 To: SubAquaClub; subaqua-new@lists.redbrick.dcu.ie Subject: Annual Snorkel Trip - fun fun fun in lovely Carraroe. Festive Greetings all, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. It's nearly time to get in the sea at last! We're off to Carraroe in Connemara from 19 - 21st February for our annual snorkel trip. You don’t want to miss this one! I've provisionally booked two 4* lodges which accommodate 8 people each: http://www.carraroeholidaycottages.ie/about.htm These are a short distance from the coral strand (the only coral beach in Europe) and right beside the main pub in the town. Carraroe is a gorgeous spot where they all speak Irish!!! All trainees have to do 5 snorkels before diving in the sea to allow for acclimatisation to the water temperature. Current members must do 3 snorkels each. Therefore this is an excellent opportunity for all members to get their snorkels signed off and ………have a massive party. The weekend is subsidised by the club but should cost around €50-60 per person which will include food, accommodation and some booze. You’ll also need to budget for petrol and tolls (approx €70 per car). If you want to go please let me know by Mon 17th January at the latest as I may need to book extra accommodation. There is another lodge or cottage or extra mattresses available – preference will be given to those who reply first! Please do not assume that I will psychically know that you are coming no matter how special you think you are! Also please state in your reply if you need a lift or are able to offer someone a lift down. I’m hoping to make it 3 to a car where possible as we shouldn’t have too much gear. Remember, car-pooling saves these guys:[X] Here’s a link to photos from last year’s snorkel trip to wet your appetite…! http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~subaqua/photo_gallery.php Happy New Year!
