Hey guys!

We've got a new guy joining us today fresh out of selection. His name's Soap. Which means all the newbies have been added to the mailing list and have started coming along to our events! Welcome to a new year of GamesSoc - we signed up around 200 members this year, so we're looking forward to seeing you at events during the next year.

- Trad Gaming - Console Gaming - Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Fresher's Ball - EGM - WinterLAN

- - Trad Gaming - - Come one, come all, to trad gaming! Trad as always will be running on both Monday and Wednesday in XG01. On Monday it will be running from 6pm to 10pm, while on Wednesday it will be running slightly earlier, from 5pm to 10pm. Come along and try out something new, like Last Night On Earth and Resistance.

- - Console Gaming - - Consoles will be running this week in XG16 on Wednesday, from 1pm to 5pm again. This week we'll be running a Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare tournament. Old school mode rules will apply, and we'll be taking signups from 1pm, and starting the tournament at 2pm. Signups are two euro per person. Not your thing? We'll have the rest of the consoles set up as normal too.

- - Fresher's Ball - - We'll be holding our annual fresher's ball this Thursday from 8pm onwards. It's a great chance to chill out and meet other members of the society, all in the familiar surroundings of the NuBar. Come along and relax with friends, there will be food on the night!

- - EGM - - We'll be holding our EGM on Wednesday the 15th of October (week four) at 5pm in XG01. We have a few things to cover in this EGM, as follows: - Adoption of the SLC Constitution https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23040279/Gamessoc%20Consitution%20update... - Addition of a second PC Events Officer - Election of Committee Positions - First Year Representative, Trips and Events Officer, Treasurer, PC Events Officer (vote pending) - AOB If you are interested in running for any of these positions, you must email your interest to games@redbrick.dcu.ie before 6pm the day before (Tuesday the 14th) to ensure you can run for the position.

- - WinterLAN - - Members of GamesSoc have been invited to attend WinterLAN, an eSport and Gaming event. WinterLAN will be taking place over November 15/16th at the O'Callaghan Alexander Hotel. Games being played will include League of Legends, Call of Duty, Starcraft 2, Pokémon X/Y VGC and a YuGiOh TCG tournament! Interested?
