Hi,
The almighty list for workshop times have been put up on the notice board.
N.B. Times have been changed to a 3.00 pm workshop and a 4.30pm workshop,
this Wednesday. This allows you to fit in the radio workshop at 2.00pm.
The workshop will be mainly studio camera-work and more depending on time.
Also any ideas for DCUtv bring them along too! I also want to talk to
those who sent me ideas already!
Check your names and times. If you are not down send me an e-mail.
See you all there,
Michael Harte
hi everyone,
i'm Kim Murphy and i'm the DCUFM programmes officer this year. DCUFM will
be running this year for one week in March (10 - 14th). we've lots of slots
to fill up so we need to get as many people as possible involved. we'll
be having our first workshop this wednesday at 2pm in studio 2 (that's the
old radio studio on the 2nd fl of the henry gratan around the corner from
the communications notice board).
Myself and Peter Curtain, our technical officer, plan on having a workshop
every fortnight this semester. They're really important to come along to
if you want to learn all about how to make a radio show, how to produce
a show and also to let me know of any brilliant ideas you have for shows
you'd like to do yourself.
March may seem far off at the moment but it'll be here before you know it
so it's REALLY IMPORTANT that you start thinking of ideas for shows and
emailing me your ideas over the next few weeks.
looking forward to seeing you all this wednesday,
kim xxxx
Hi there,
thanks to all of you who came to the meeting today. we were impressed with
the turnout and the mix of interest. Seems like there's great potential
for the year ahead. The real work starts here though, and for those interested
in the camera worshops, they will take place next wednesday in the TV studio
(1st floor of the Henry Grattan building). Because of the numbers interested,
we'll try to have two slots, one from 2 to 4, the other from 4 to 6. If
you could email Michael, michael.harte2(a)mail.dcu.ie to let us know which
workshop you'd prefer that would be great. Those of you who have emailed
me already, I'll forward your names on.
There was an impressive amount of interest in the short film project and
the soap opera, and we'll email you soon with more details.
If you need to get in touch with the DCUTV committee with any questions,
ideas, comments... here are the addresses:
tom.odwyer2(a)mail.dcu.ie for anything and everything...
michael.harte2(a)mail.dcu.ie for workshops and technical stuff...
sarah.mulkerrins2(a)mail.dcu.ie for programme ideas...
Thanks,
Tom
Hi there,
There will be a introductory meeting for all those interested in DCUTV this
wednesday, at 3 o'clock in CG01. It'll be a good opportunity to get to know
those in the group. We'll show some show's from last year, and we'll talk
about the year ahead. If anyone has any ideas for any shows, please bring
them too!
hope to see you there,
Tom

Hello everyone and welcome to The Media Production Society.
Our EGM will be held on monday next at 6pm in the Seminar room in the HUB
where you will get a chance to meet the committee and discuss the various
programmes for the year. Some workshops have already been organised and
they will be starting in the next week or two.
There are 4 remaining positions on the Committee
Fresher Rep (must be a first year)
Hybrid Editor
Hybrid Technical Officer
Hybrid PRO
If you are interested in any of these positions, monday is your chance to
tell us why and get elected.

So what is Hybrid?
Hybrid is a club night devoted to displaying the imaging/photographic talent
of the students in communications, multimedia, and journalism courses in
DCU, alongside some of the best Irish DJ's on the circuit.
Fusing different forms of music with visuals is by no means a new idea,
however Hybrid aims to use this medium as a platform where new and emerging
visual artists can freely display their work to a mass audience: a precious
chance by anyone's rationale.
Hybrid will take place some night during the first few weeks of the second
semester this year. Your job as one of the Hybrid officers will be to ensure
that everything is organised by the end of this semester so that the show
will run smoothly.
If you are interested in being responsible for the running of Hybrid and
have any questions, feel free to email me before the EGM on monday.

If there are any changes with the location or time of the meeting keep and
eye on your email and our notice board on the first floor of the Henry Grattan.
If some of your friends joined up with MPS and didn't get this email tell
them to contact me. Some of the handwriting was hard to read and I may
have got their email address wrong.
That's all floks
