Hey Guys,
I know most of you are across the world enjoying your summer holidays but for those of you in Ireland still here is a little something that could brighten up an afternoon for you!!! The film Gobshite (formally known as Hooligans during production) will be screened in a sneak preview to the first 230 or so people that make it to the IFI on the 23rd of August at 12:30. The film is the debut film by Director Mike Scullion, previous work by him include a television series for Canadian series on soccer and numerous award winning ads for Big Rock Beer in Canada again! The film was filmed in Ireland in the summer of 2003 and showcases many up and coming Irish actors, such as Jamie Belton (Fair City) and Brendan Dempsey (Waking Ned Devine, Gangs of New York). Also if you remember during the second semester we had the Director of Photography, Tyler Dinwoodie, in to give a talk to members! So if you have the chance come along, you will have the chance to mingle with the actors and the crew of the film as well as some of those from interested Irish Distribution companies! Well hope you are all having a great summer and maybe see you at the screening!
