hey everyone,
Ok some things going on over the next few weeks to let ye know about:
- Firstly, ye hav probably all been wondering(or not) what has happened to our podcasting, so here goes, at present PPI have informed us that they are unable to license any podcasts of ther members recordings. therefore, we would be breaching copyright in the recordings if we were to go ahead so we cant. However we are in negotiations with them to see if there is a way around this. We will keep you all updated on progress.
-Needless to say we wont be podcasting this weds. BUT we are having a Pro-Tools workshop on thursday at 2pm in the audio lab (c102). for people who have never used protools before, you will learn the basics and also the basics on using a md player. As the weeks go on the workshops will get more advanced and we hope to have a master class in about two weeks time for advanced users.
-Also we are looking for people who will be around on Saturday for the DCU open day to do shows in the studio, basically we just want the studio to be open and in use so people can see that the studio does work and is being used within the college. So its a perfect chance for anyone who wants practise using the studio etc. If your interested just drop katie a line, katie.galvin3@mail.dcu.ie and we will try and slot you in.
Think thats pretty much it, keep an eye on life.dcu.ie for more MPS news or check out the website www.mediaproductionsociety.tk (dont i sound like an advertisement)
