TENTH PLANET By now I'm sure you've all heard about the Edgeworth-Kuiper Belt Object announced last weekend by NASA as being the Sun's 10th planet. A full report will appear in our magazine of course. We've been doing interviews all weekend so we'll fill you in on all details via the magazine in due course. The very latest news will be on our Radio Show tonight at 8pm or download it from www.astronomy.ie/radioshow.html 3. 80386SX COMPUTER After being in almost continuous daily use for over 10 years the oldest computer in Astronomy Ireland was finally retired last month - a 16MHz 80386SX with 5MB RAM! Still in use until now on the basis of "if it ain't broke don't fix it!" it seems a shame to toss it in a skip after all those faithful years of good service (still has the original 40MB hard disk). If anyone knows a good use or home for it let me know. It belongs in a museum. (And don't worry, AI has been mainly running 2GHz Pentiums for several years!)
