Jupiter And Moon Spectacular Tonight - Huge Media Interest A spectacular sight will be visible in the night sky tonight, September 29, when the giant planet Jupiter will be placed very close to the Full Moon. Visible by the naked eye, Jupiter will appear as a brilliant 'star' just below the Moon soon after sunset (around 8pm) and both will remain visible until dawn. For more information visit our website HERE. David Moore has already been interviewed on iRadio (NW & NE regions of Ireland), Tipp FM and Waterord Local Radio. He will appear on RTE1 TV's flagship daytime programme The Afternoon Show (we are asking you to email the show at emails@theafternoonshow.ie and tell them you support RTE promoting astronomy). 3. Nationwide Jupiter Watch Reports Last Friday, September 25, Astronomy Ireland held Jupiter Watches at various locations nationwide as part of Culture Night 2009. Each Watch was a great success with thousands of people all over the country turning up to see Jupiter through a telescope. Over a hundred people also ran their own Doorstep Jupiter Watch using information from the packs which we supplied them, allowing friends, family, and local communities to gather together and see the giant planet and several of its larger moons. To read the full reports and see photographs from these watches click HERE (please keep checking the website as we will add more reports as we receive them). 4. Events a..
