Evening Classes start next week Our spring set of <http://www.astronomy.ie/class/index.php> 'Astronomy for Beginners' Evening Classes begins next week on Wednesday, February 2nd at ten locations nationwide. The course is professionally developed by the Astronomy Ireland team, and is suitable for anyone with an interest in astronomy that wants a good grounding in this fantastic hobby. Classes take place each Wednesday from 7:30pm, and will run every Wednesday for a period of eight weeks, for more information visit www.astronomy.ie/class. 2. Jupiter Watch Reports While much of Ireland experienced cloudy skies on Wednesday, January 26th, there were breaks in the clouds which afforded Watch attendees views of the gas giant through some of Ireland's most powerful telescopes. Another Fireball over Ireland In the early hours of this morning, January 28th, a huge fireball was spotted over Ireland; this is the second fireball sighting in ten days. If you, or anyone you know, saw this spectacular event then please log on to our website and submit a Fireball Report. Astronomy Ireland is also appealing to anyone who runs a CCTV camera to please review it for the period between 6am and 7am. Any video of the fireball will be a huge aid in defining the path of the fireball through the sky, and any possible landing site.
