Again, whadaya think? Similar, but different.... Bob! DCU Drama to perform Shakespeare's MacBeth DCU Drama Society is taking the plunge this season and for the first time will be performing one of Shakespeare's most celebrated works - MacBeth, the great Scottish Tragedy. A drum, a drum! MacBeth doth come! This gruesomely infamous soul searing tale of ambition, greed and murder is retold by DCU Drama in a modern gothic setting. Young Gun Conor Farrell takes the reins, directing Mark Watson (MacBeth) and Laura Whitmore (Lady MacBeth) in what is even by today's demanding standards, an all too relevant and disturbing story. An updated version, retaining the original Shakespearean dialogue while making use of contemporary settings, music and attire, this classic story of one man's fall from grace is not to be missed. This is an all-student production that guarantees to be rambunctious, bloody and unforgettable. The production will run in the Venue at the HUB in DCU from Monday Feb. 21st - Thursday Feb. 24th at 8pm. On Wednesday the 23rd there will be a matinee at 2pm in addition to the main show. Tickets are a ludicrous E6 for evening shows and just E4 for DCU Drama members or those with a flyer. Tickets for the matinee are priced at E4. In addition we are offering interested secondary schools a flat price of E3 for any performance. Hey Aoife, Great to hear from you. I've forwarded your email to UCD who are hosting the festival this year so they should send you some forms etc soon. You can contact the reps (Nick and Louise) at isda(a)ucddramsoc.com if you need to ask them about anything. The Festival runs from 11th - 19th March and the venues are UCD Dramsoc Theatre, The Project Arts Centre Space Upstairs and Cube, and the SS Michael and John in Temple Bar. The next meeting is in Trinity College at 2pm on Sat 26th Feb, I'll be in touch with more details nearer the time.
