HEY ALL, Just a quick update on isda. Firstly, my exciting trip to ucd was nothung more than a waste of bloody time as they didn't need student numbers, just the names of the cast. all of this could have been done over the fucking internet and has pissed me off just a litte. Secondly, the entrance fee for isda is now 200 euro. The was apparenbtly decided at an isda meetinga few weeks ago and they claim they emailed this to bob. bob doesn't remember any such email and i think he would remember something like this. They claim that the reason for this increase is to reduce prices into the events. Now, as a result of this increase, it's E2 for participants, E3 for students and E5 for adults. I gave them the cheque for E100 and said i see what i could do about the rest. I would say boycott the assholes if we weren't already involved and paid a considerable sum Thirdly, and finally i think, we need to email the insurance cover that i assume we have some time early next week. Right guys, i think thats it. Any suggetions about where to go next. Can we actually afford to pay the money with the musical and quiz at the moment

Right I called the Helix today to confim our booking and to sort out payment. I have to talk to Una Carmondy about this, I was told she'd be calling me back when she got back to the office, but I just got a call from her PA there to say that she's unavailable for the weekend, so I'll hear back on Monday. Should I get a musical production mailing list set up or something so it's not clogging the committee mails? -- Women should be obscene and not heard

hey just had a meeting with grace and niall from acg, and they're pretty nice (unlike snotface). We've come to an agreement, ten rounds, we're sharing two, the picture round, and the music round. They're doing sports and one on the celtic ball, we can do as many drama questions as we'd like, they don't mind, it'll give it a mix we've come to a couple of compromises. All of the questions will be read out in english and irish. Bob is going to ask all ten rounds in English, Niall is going to repeat them all in Irish. Fair is fair. We're going to mail each other our questions tomorrow, firstly so we can make sure there are no objections, but I'm sure that there won't be, these two are lovely, secondly, to make sure there's no overlap (like there would be) and finally, so that acg can translate them all into irish. For the raffle, they're going to throw in two tickets to the ball as prizes, and we're going to throw in two tickets to the musical. Hopefully, by monday, we'll be able to give them crazy things. Like dates. And a venue. I've told them we do fun stuff for spot prized between rounds, and we're happy to leave their envelopes on the table, and we leave a selection of our stuff, if you win a spot you have a choice of picking an envelope or picking one of our prizes. Everything is being spilt 50-50. We're splitting half the money that comes in on the night between us, we have two MCs, we'll have equal numbers of correcters, etc. We're gonna have another wee meeting on Monday before the show to make sure we have everything on the level and know whose doing what and when, etc, etc. I have a job interview in an hour, i have to go home and make myself pretty and writer a CV Hasta manana Claire 087 2942137

I think tis all sorted Their first prise was going to be 100 yoyos which is kinda crap. Our first prise is yet to be bought. A dvd player is worth about 40 euro these days so..... if we throw in 100 euro the first prise goes up to 200 and that's 50 euro each for a table of 4] all prizes are thrown into a lot and are distributed evenly otherwise. They have some really good prizes and joke prizes (you get to clean the bar for a week vouchers etc...) all profits are split. drama runs 4 rounds CMG runs 4 rounds they alternate. everyone there has a good night (even if you do have to put up with their questions being asked in both Irish and in english)....sorry dave, i know you have a hatred for our native tongue. As well as this we mail our members, tell them to brush up on their irish sporting history. They mail their members, thell them to brush up on their dramatics and bob;s your uncle (not really) so.......everyone happy with this compromise?

Hi Folks, Sorry to bother you with this but drama are in a but of a pickle. There are two table quizzes scheduled to go on in the Old bar on Monday night, Drama's and Cumman NG's We know its Seachtaine na Gailge and we know that they have booked a bar ex for the night. They assumed that booking a bar ex meant booking the bar... Unknowing of their plans Drama went to bar management and booked the use of the bar for the night. Each society for their own reasons can't reschedule the dates. Both societies have advertised their own and here's where it gets messy..... The original plan was to share the venue but we needed to sit down and discuss the financial side of things. Every time we tried to sort it out we were shunned. Someone then got back to our tech officer and said that if we went ahead with our quiz then they would refuse to pay the SU for the bar ex that they booked and that the onus would be on us to pay for it. I'm sure you're prolly helping with the financial side of things on the night and all we want is to have a good night and to raise some money. Both societies have paid for prises and no one wants to loose out. I think we need someone to sep in. They are not accepting that they simply overlooked an aspect of organising their night and they wont co-operate with us. howdy gang i've just got a phone call from john, the bar manager, about the table quiz on monday night. the girl from an cumann gaelach has been into him to tell him that she booked the bar and the bar extension back in february, and that it's not her fault no one put it in the bookings book. he called me to let me know that he's now going to have to take her booking, firstly because she claims that she's booked in advance, and secondly, cos they've booked the extension. He's suggesting a joint event so that no one loses face, but we won't make the money back on everything that we've spent if we have to cover our prizes, their prizes and the bar extension. Unfortunately, the new bar already has a booking that night, so we can't move over there. What i've done is provisionally book us into the bar for monday 21st of march, which is a week later. Our only other option is to share the quiz on monday night. If we do that, we have to change some of our questions and stuff tho. I'm happier to move the quiz back a week i told john i'd get back to him by the end of the day lemmie know what y'all think Claire 087 2942137

But that will just cause bad feelings Trad music are in the new bar, they're being filmed for nationwide, they've had that booked for ages, and it can't be moved. anyone got any suggestions (apart from breaking cng's kneecaps?)
