Everybody had a great time and nobody died... which is always a good thing at an event... Special thanks to Shay McNelis, SU and everybody else who helped out in the organization of the night, couldn't of done it without you!!! I've received countless e-mails from people asking me about certain Drama related events- EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW IS INCLUDED IN THE ANNOUNCE DRAMA'S... we send one a week... take the five minutes to read it if your interested... but don't come crying to me if you miss something important... Okay... week 6... what's da craic? * West Side Story * King Lear FINAL AUDITIONS!!! * Stars in Their Eyes IMPORTANT NOTICE!!! * Panto Callbacks * Iago Callbacks / Stand Up Comedy * Tech Workshop * Set Design Meeting * Film Music * Socs Ball Tickets * Contact us West Side Story We've booked 20 tickets to see West Side Story in the Gaiety on Thursday 2nd at 8:00pm. Normally sold at €25, we are getting the tickets for a poultry €9 per person!!! We will be collecting this money on Tuesday at 6pm in Clubs & Socs office! So get down quickly if you want a ticket!!! King Lear FINAL AUDITIONS for King Lear will be in XG15 this Wednesday 1st at 2pm. This is your final chance to audition for this Shakespearean tragedy that will be performed in the Helix (fingers crossed!) Wed 1st - XG15 - 2pm Stars in Their Eyes IMPORTANT!!! Those who auditioned for "Stars in Their Eyes" on Wednesdaylast week- make sure you e-mail jason.fallon2(a)mail.dcu.ie and pro(a)dcudrama.ie with the song you auditioned with and your contact details!!! If you do NOT do this you WILL NOT be considered for the show!!! The decision on who will be in the show will be decided on Tuesday night and will be posted on the website Panto Callbacks If you got a callback for the Panto then your name will be on the drama website: www.dcudrama.ie XG14- Wed 1st - 2pm Iago Callbacks / Stand up COMEDY For those who auditioned for Iago and received a callback, don't forget to attend the callback!!! Also, the writer of Iago, Ashlinn O Loughlin is doing stand up comedy in the Haypenny bar in Temple Bar this Tuesday at 9pm! She's a hilarious comedian and well worth the visit! If anyone is interested in going, then e-mail myself at chair(a)dcudrama.ie or just show up on the night. WARNING- the place packs out pretty quick!!! Tech Workshop Drama is holding its first Tech workshop this Wed at 6pm in the Venue. Want to understand how to operate and organize a show? Then you should attend the workshop! Set Design Meeting There will be a meeting in the Seminar Room (beside the SU reception) on Thursday 6pm to discuss the set design for the Pantomime this year. If you have any interest in set design and would like to get involved, e-mail Lyndsey at training(a)dcudrama.ie and attend the meeting on Thursday at 6pm. Film music "Six Semesters" has finally been cast and the cast-list can be found at www.dcudrama.ie Meanwhile, the makers are interested in collecting and producing a soundtrack for the film. This is where you come in!!! We're looking for those of you who have written songs of your own and are interested in possibly having them on the film soundtrack. They are looking for a recording of your songs whether on CD, mp3 or pretty much anything can be transferred to laptop. The band/artists do not need to be students of DCU so therefore spread the word. Those of you who are interested in having your music on to the soundtrack be in CG06 between 2 and 4 on Wednesday 1st and 6 - 8 on Thursday 2nd. The music submitted can be of any genre and every entry will be treated in the same way as the next. For those of you who have songs but do not have it recorded, they're prepared to record it for you. Just e-mail sixsemestersmusic(a)gmail.com with the number of songs you'd like to record (max. 3) and the number of instruments involved and they'll get back to you with a time. Recordings shall take place in the radio studio in Henry Grattan between 5.30 and 10.30 on Thursday 9th of November. Unfortunately, for logistical reasons, these songs can only be acoustic performances with no drums. The director and producers ask that people know their songs and know them well as it will be a very tight schedule. It can be an instrumental but there must be some type of structure to it and not a bunch of random riffs. And also they're just looking for an idea of the quality of your song so don't worry about little mistakes, if they do decide to use your song, they'll spend a longer time on a proper recording. As this is a low-budget production, they won't be paying the artists/bands for their music. Having said that, this is a great opportunity for artists/bands to showcase there music as this project has the potential to go far. They're €49 each and it is strictly ONE PER MEMBER. The Clubs and Socs Ball is a formal ball and is always great fun, so make sure you get yourself a ticket! hi stephen, I auditioned for the panto last week but as my laptop's been on the blink and i've spent the past 4 days in hospital with a friend this is the first time ive been able to check my emails, and there is no way i'll make the singing audition tonight. Does that exclude me from the panto altogether or is there some way i can still get involved on the acting end...? Hope to hear from you shortly. Aoife

Ok guys, We've got a hundred tickets to sell and Shea says we're not allowed to set up a stand in the Hub. We stand to make €800 if we manage to shift these tickets. Basically, tell every drama member you meet that, if they want tickets to the Hallowe'en Ball, to buy them from Drama. I also think we should flog the tickets at audtitions/rehearsals. Have we been explicitly told that we can't sell them for a cheaper price? If not, I'd advise selling them for €6 to our members. Joey

hey guys, Just so you know what the crack is with our page on life. i think eoins pretty much the only person who can approve content. But I have an Admin account so i can pretty much do anything we want with the page, The only glitch is whne you guys sumbit content never submit it as text, The problem with submitted text is that it can never be taken down. so the castlist for the murder mystery that was submitted as a text file , will be up there FOREVER>>> lol, yes i know its rediculas. I can delete the whole page but not remove that little text item. So when your submitting things like cast list , submit them as NEWS only. Ok, It looks like I'm the only person available/prepared to sell tickets at the stand tomorrow. Would it be alright if I e-mailed the drama-membership looking for volunteers to operate the stand and offer them a free ticket to the ball in exchange for two hours of their time? That'll be twelve tickets gone but, if it means we shift a lot more tickets, then I reckon it's a worth-while investment. Any thoughts? Joey
