DCU DRAMA COMMITTEE MEETING * * *Agenda: **Friday, May 25th, 2007*** * * * * - Ratification of last meeting's minutes - Any matters arising from the minutes - Chair's address to the committee - Discussion of roles - Financial update – audit? - Drama for children in Ballymun - Equipment room clean-up - Discussion on what can be done - Meetings and timetables - AOB *Absent: *Megan *Chair's address to the committee:* - things that need to be said - no private conversations during a meeting - put up your hand to say something - if you've something to say, say it - only contribute if it's beneficial to the discussion - don't repeat yourself - attendance at meetings is essential - respect each other - speak to Pauric if you feel there's someone not pulling their weight - make decisions based on what is best for the society, not yourself - we're a committee but we're all friends too - friendships have to be left at the door, but pick them up again when you're leaving J - especially for the newbies: ask questions if you don't know - the committee is a good mix of experience and fresh people - newbies listen to the experience of the oldbies - make your points during the actual discussion, don't bring it up again later unnecessarily, except in AOB - don't take on something if you're too stressed, know your limits *Discussion of roles:* - hand out about the various roles on committee - extra bits: PRO to send a weekly blurb into Campus - ELO should help with bringing in outside audiences, for example kids for the panto and school students for Shakespeare - Steve suggests we set up a big board that details what's coming up next in drama: job for the PRO - everyone helps with regular poster boards - Alan K suggests the PRO could have a template for all drama posters, but Conor says that maybe that might take away from the uniqueness of the posters - posters are mainly the PRO's job, but they are a good way to get the membership involved - Training Officer will organise a workshop for every week, doesn't always have to be a professional, just make sure it's the same day each week - big emphasis on tech workshops, Jay Fallon could do one - workshops could last up to two hours, do them in the Venue - people from the workshops could sit in during actual shows, watch and learn - *Pauric to send out an announce drama, include the Bebo drama band link* *Financial update:* - Joey's laptop broke - litter fine still needs to be paid - still waiting for sponsorship from Liana's dad and Daiwa *Drama for children in Ballymun:* - Laura Power contacted Pauric - workshops in Ballymun - *Pauric to contact Laura to say we are interested* * * *Equipment room clean-up:* - just needs to be tidied for the summer, no need to throw anything out -* whoever can make it to meet Saturday 26th, at **11am* *Discussion on what can be done:* - next meeting, around July 1st - things to be done between now and then - Yvonne says we can get a guy from Storytellers Theatre Company in to do a free workshop - possibly Simon Delaney, an acting workshop - Kirsty Dukes, a production workshop - Pauric wants to speak to everyone individually *Meetings and timetables:* - next meeting, in July - Susan B gone for the whole summer - Jenni gone around end of July, and all of August - about two or three meetings should be sufficient - main things to discuss: layout for next year, the musical, the clique - Pauric to undertake the role of secretary for the summer J - Pauric to pick a date around the beginning of July *AOB:* - committee night out? - drama won't pay - nothing decided - no one has said anything about where the Full Monty set is being stored at the moment, so we'll keep quiet - getting a shed for drama? - *Steve to email Jenni with the grant ap and Pauric with the Broadway trip itinerary*
