Its still at 5.30 tonight? Just a couple of things for you all to think about before we get in there this evening.... I can see its full steam ahead on 90's night but just to give you all something to think about....it makes sence for us to have our dada's in week 12 because all productions will be over by then but we need someone to organise the night. Secondly, we need an agm. I think at the very latest it should be week 10 so that we can give some training to the new committee, possibly have it week 9? With the plays still in motion and the trips away we have to decide when and where they are going to be held. NOTE TO RIONA (dont read the next bit ;) I still need lots of reciepts from previous productions, hand write them or type them on the puter for all i care at this point See you all at 5.30

What do I need to do about an SPC application? Bev or otherwise (is he still on the mailing list?), how much were the crew costs for the Space for 'Someone...'? And if I don't have a Stephen Dodd type character to design/rig/plot lights, where does that leave me with the Helix staff? I'm needing a poster design too, even if venues haven't exactly been decided, so if someone has artsoc's list, could they send it my way. What do y'all think is the best approach on this one - should I contact the multimedia class lists too, or just resort to begging Richie O'Neill right now? Hooray! Positive news on play production: As the mail below testifies, Marie-Louise O'Donnell is all for 'Winners' going in that week. Cost is another kettle of fish...How much does the SPC fund for productions? Should I only negotiate with the premise that ticket sales have to pay for all production costs? There's little or no costs for set, props, costumes, etc., & rights are €40 per performance. So, that leaves cost of renting the Space and the cost of their tech. staff. In advance of any meeting - and safeguarding against the possibility that it will be foregone in respect of the Musical - I just want to fill everyone in on the situation with plays. 'Winners', directed by Louise May, is going swimmingly. The possibility of getting 'The Space' at the Helix is still but a possibility, as Marie-Louise has yet to personally get back to me on the issue. I'll continue bugging her. The prospect of a miniature festival for a week in April isn't realistic as, apart from 'Winners', none of the other plays can be relied upon. Conor Farrel's self-written script, 'Home' has potential but, I don't think, is ready for production. I've given him some advice about a re-write and will try to meet with him next week. 'The Shape of Things', Arsheen's venture, depends now on Arsheen. She's managed to locate a script (thanks to Medb so I hear), but she's so busy as it is, she doubts whether she has the time. I'm getting a final decision at the beginning of next week, but I can't see it happening. 'My Mother Said I Never Should' is tricky. Four woman play, very long. I have a director, assistant director and producer but the director (response below, who I have since met with) didn't strike me as having a real sense of what directing a play is...I'm afraid she's going to treat it too pragmatically, in disregard of the artistic aspects and may run into trouble with working with actors. i.e. she won't. Bev put on 'Someone Who'll Watch Over Me' in about 3 weeks, with a very dedicated, talented cast and a really good sense himself of what was involved. Without all of these, it is a dangerous situation. I'll pull the plug on 'My Mother Said I Never Should' if I need to without hesitation. Oh, and for the record, I'm now overflowing with feel-good Musical fever. Which may or may not have something to do with Laura Whitmore in a nightie. on that matter- jaysus, it'll take ages if i'm to do best event adn stuff, coz just looking adn you need to know what promotion and all we received, and every resource that went in, perhaps Medb or Riona or ELaine would know better? I'd do it if i knew how,but SPC will favour someone who knows what they're talkin bout!
