Hey everyone, getting back to normal this week now that all the important
stuff is out of the way. Here's whats happening:
===Trad==

6-10pm and 5-10pm in XG01.
===Console===
Console gaming will be held in X101 from 2-5pm on Wednesday. This week in

Hey everybody I would again like to welcome all our new members and a huge
thanks to everyone who signed up and visited us on Clubs and Socs day. Our
EGM is on tomorrow and it will give loads of you an opportunity to join
the committee and help us run the society. Here's the schedule for this
week:
===EGM===
Our EGM will be held on Monday 3rd (tomorrow) at 6pm in XG01. The
positions we are looking for are:
- 2 x PC Officers
- Trips and Events Officer
- 1st Year Rep
- St. Pats Rep
There will be pizza and other goodies after the meeting and trad gaming
will resume after the meeting as well. You see more details on the event
page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1789921567922473/
===Console Gaming===
Console Gaming will be held in X101 from 2-5pm as per usual on Wednesday.
For the people who won their first round games of the Fifa 16 tournament
last week, we will be completing the tournament on Wednesday so make sure
to be there for it.
===Trad Gaming===
Trad Gaming is the same as always on Monday and Wednesday in XG01 from
6-10pm and 5-10pm respectively. Monday's Trad will be delayed due to the
EGM.
===King of GamesSoc===
Its good to be king. King of GamesSoc is a massive tournament of
tournaments throughout the college year, and it has already kicked off,
with two prizes being awarded during our Clubs and Socs Mario Maker
Tournament! Members fight it out in our tournaments for points, and the
person with the most points wins the title! Were doing things a little
differently this year:
DOUBLE THE ROYALTY: More kingliness! King of Gamessoc now will have a king
rise to power in each semester, to accommodate those who will be in DCU
for only one semester. Each king gets their share of royal gaming riches!
Itll give renewed intensity to the competition in the second semester.
GET THE POINT: In previous years, every trophy was worth a single point.
This year, were shaking things up: winning a tournament now awards three
points! Among these tournaments, theres also opportunities to earn even
more points! Random trophies for achievements in a tournament setting
award either one or two points, at the committees discretion. So dont be
afraid to be flashy as hell, because itll pay off!
You can keep a track of all trophies here:

You can find our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/DCUGamessoc/

Remember when I mentioned Q-Con back in week 2? Well we are now taking
names for those wishing to go! We can send up to 30 people and until the
registration goes up we won't know exactly how much it will cost but
expect it to be around 60 for the trip which will include:
-Bus transport from DCU to the convention and back
-A weekend Con ticket
-The weekend's stay in Queens College accommodation (elms village)
*
If you want to attend Q-Con with us make sure to email us your name and
your student number saying you want to attend.
*
And for those who joined after we initially talked about Q-Con or missed
the email here is a quick description about the trip itself:
Q-Con is a big anime and gaming convention held in Belfast every year that
we as Gamessoc attend for the weekend and have a great time!
This is one of the biggest events we hold each year and it's definitely
something not to be missed!
Between entering game tournaments(Video, Trad and Card), watching anime
screening, attending panels and talks from guests, achieving victory at
the pub quiz, seeing all the great cosplay and having a laugh with friends
in a once off pen and paper RPG there is something for everyone!
Then once you have had your fill at the con you retire to the Queens
College accommodation (elms village) where we will be staying for the
weekend to eat junk food, play games, have some drink and possibly play
Ninja into the wee hours of the morning all to do it again the next day!
If you have any questions about the trip or the convention itself don'y
hesitate to ask us on Facebook, in person or email us here!
