Hey guys,
To anyone who ordered a hoodie from us, they've arrived in and we've
started giving them out.
The box with the hoodies will be in PC Gaming in C204 tonight from
6PM-10-PM(ish) and are €22.
If you can't make it tonight, we'll have the box at our events next week as
well so no worries.
To anyone who didn't order a hoodie...go to PC Gaming anyway!
Cheers,
Mark Gorman
Hey guys, glad to see most of you made it!

PC Gaming is making a triumphant return this week
and will be kicking off with a tournament in the
ever hilarious Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. Entry will
be €2 as per usual and the tournament will be run over

with your order to make sure you get one.
|| Humans Vs Zombies ||
Gamessoc's award winning event, Humans Vs Zombies,
will be run again this year. Humans Vs Zombies
is a campus-wide, moderated, game of tag. Humans
have to use Nerf Weapons or socks to fend off
the growing zombie horde in an effort to survive
the week, while zombies have to try and tag, or
"eat" as many humans as possible to not starve.
This event is a great way to meet new people and
to also have a lot of fun. The full rules and
requirements are on our webpage
here: http://games.dcu.ie/hvz/rules.php
You can also sign up to the game on the website.
Go to the "register" tab and sign up to the site,
then go to the "game" section and join the fight!

Stay tuned!
Mark Gorman
Gamessoc Secretary 2012/'13
The committee would just like to clarify that there
will NOT be PC gaming on this week, despite what you
may have heard or seen. We are going to be officially
launching PC Gaming next week with a tournament.
Apologies for any confusion caused,
Mark Gorman
Hey guys, just a quick update to tell you the room
for Console Gaming this week. Console Gaming
will be held this Wednesday in X131 in the science
building from 2PM - 6PM. The room is upstairs
on the side farthest from the Library. The MW3
tournament will be starting at 2:30 so make sure
you arrive early to register.
Traditional Gaming will then be held in XG01 from 6PM - 10PM.
See you there,
Mark Gorman.
Hey all it's a brand new week so it's time for a brand new email!
|| Traditional Gaming - Mon/Wed 6PM - 10PM ||
|| Console Gaming / MW3 Tournament - 2PM - 6PM ||
|| PC Gaming ||
|| Gamessoc Hoodies ||
|| Gaelcon ||
|| Trad Gaming ||
Trad Gaming will be running this week as per usual. This means
6PM to 10PM in XG01 on both Monday AND on Wednesday after
Consoles. Make sure to come along and play some games. Whether its
joining the Resistance, playing the epic Game of Thrones or simply
showing off your Magic: The Gathering skills, you're sure to find
something to do!
|| Console Gaming - Modern Warfare 3 Tournament ||
The room for Console Gaming has not been set yet, but you can
expect an update soon on where it will be.
This week we will be having a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
tournament. It'll be €2 to enter and sign-ups will start at 2,
with the tournament itself starting at 2:30. The matches will
be played in Free-for-all and the winner will receive a €20
voucher for Gamestop. If you're confident of your skills,
why not step up and shoot fish in a barrel?
Even if you're not interested in the tournament, come along as
we'll have plenty of other consoles for you to enjoy.
|| PC Gaming ||
Unfortunately, PC Gaming will NOT be happening this week. We have
not yet been able to arrange a time to set up the lab we use, but
we hope to have it running next week.
|| Gamessoc Hoodies ||
We are going to be ordering our Gamessoc Hoodies soon, so we want
to get a rough idea of how many people are interested so we can
get an idea of prices. The usual price is around €25. If you come
along to Console Gaming on Wednesday, Nicole, our events officer
will be taking names or you can email us at games(a)redbrick.dcu.ie
to let us know if you're interested.
We have a list of colours for both the hoodies and the zippies on
our forums here: http://games.dcu.ie/forums/index.php?topic=3257.0
|| Gaelcon ||
Gaelcon will be run from the 26th to the 29th of October and will
cost €28. We will be able to offer a cheaper price to a limited number
of members so if you're interested in going you should make a post
on our forums as soon as possible in the Gaelcon thread:

That's all folks,
Mark Gorman
Gamessoc Secretary 2012/'13
Apologies for the second email but there is a slight amendment
for my previous email to be made.
The Freshers Ball will be held on Thursday the 4th of October,
NOT the 3rd as previously stated.
Sorry for the mix-up. I hope that my time-travelling escapades
will not stop anyone from attending the event.
Still hoping to see you all there,
-Mark Gorman
