Howdy Folks,
I hope you're enjoying the summer so far. Q-con begins this Friday so
here's all the details on travel.
The bus from Bus Aras in the city center costs around €20 return. A group
of us are meeting up at 10.30 am on Friday in Bus Aras and we're getting
the 11.00 am bus.
If you're unable to make it with us or want to get on the bus at a
different stop, check this timetable for times and so on.
http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1306337595-1.pdf
The cost for the entry fees and accomodation will be €20 per person and
€24 for those of you in the Warhammer tournament. Payment will be
collected on Friday so dont forget to bring your money.
Q-Con is our first destination once we get off the bus. There we'll grab
our passes and head to the accommodation from there. For those who aren't
with us I've included a map with directions on where to go for the
accommodation. For both the Q-Con pass, at the reception just say you're
with the DCU Games Society and give them your name and they'll give you
your pass. Same situation for accomodation, at the reception give the
group your with and name and they'll do the rest.
I think that wraps it up. There's a topic on the forums here
http://games.dcu.ie/forums/index.php?topic=2982.0 so you can post to say
what way you are travelling or if you can no longer attend. You can also
reply to this email if you want. If something goes wrong on the day and
you need to get in contact with me, my number is 0861227115, so just save
it in case you have to.
Anyway, I'll see you all at Bus Aras or Q-con on Firday.
Yours Deliciously,
Chairman Sir Saint John Percival Oisin Christopher Kelly Preston Esquire,
Secretary
DCU Games Society
Hey folks,
Sorry for the late announce mail, I was doing things.
Here's the rundown for this week:
- QCon Trip
- Weekly events
- QCon Trip 25th - 27th June 2010 -
Dan phrased this better then me so here:
This time of the year again eh? We're making the trip up to Belfast for
Q-con this June and we'll be funding the majority of the costs for any of
our members that want to go!
Q-con is a really good convention and if you have nothing else to do, you
should come along for a fun filled weekend with Games Soc. There's plenty
to do including console gaming, roleplaying games, wargaming, card games,
a pub quiz, anime showings and even cosplaying if you're into it. For more
details about the convention hit them up at their website.
http://www.q-con.org.uk/
So if you're interested in going and haven't already told us, email us
back or reply to this thread and we'll add you to the list. We'll announce
soon the total cost for the trip. If you're an associate and interested in
going, just tell us and we'll book it for you (just no funding!).
- Weekly Events -
They're all on this week, you are more likely at traditional as I'm
sending this so that's proof enough. If they're not on then feel free to
punch any of our respective officers in the gonads.
I'd love to say I hope you're all studying and well prepared for the exams
but fuck that just keep playing games and drink heavily and I'm sure
you'll pass anyway.
Yours Deliciously,
Chairman Sir Saint John Percival Oisin Christopher Kelly Preston Esquire,
Secretary
DCU Games Society

All right, on Wednesday at 2pm in the old bar we'll be running a Geometry
Wars tournament. It's free of charge and the winner gets a great prize so
no bitching about "I have Arthritis" or something stupid like that. Rules
are simple, highest score wins! Aside from the tournament consoles will be

events.
