Ok Due to a last microsecond change of meeting times, i will be unable to make tonights meeting - many apologies!! I was planning to be there at 7 for an hour of meetingness, as i have to go view a house at 8., the n i have to be home by 10 (babysitting stuff). :::Meetingy Stuff!!::: :o: Stormtroopers are ready and waiting for action!! :o: Due to Shea's overall crappiness as an ents officer, i've been unable to find him at his desk but i have emailed him asking for thursday in the venue - i'll keep checking up on a daily basis till i catch him, or until someone tells me otherwise. :o: I'd very much like to let LGBT know what's the deal with rocky horror, and i still don't know?? :o: Unrelated matter - anyone have connections in a hospital?? Hey guys, Here's the deal for next week: We need to have further auditions and then some callbacks for the Panto, so let's look at Tuesday evening for a new batch of auditons, and Wednesday afternoon for callbacks and hopefully final casting. Daniel Bevan, after seeing over 25 girls for one role, feels that he needs to see more. Yayness. He wants to do Tuesday evening also. Eoin, can you get onto the online booking form and get three rooms from 6-8pm on Tuesday night (in the Grattan, so that the cleaners don't bother us again). I'm thinking CG20, CG11 and whatever one is also near them that DOESN'T have built in seats/desks. Also, can you book XG14 and XG15 for 2pm Wednesday until about 5pm. We'll need to put this info out on the announce-drama email on Monday, so I would suggest applying today :) What about Stars in their Eyes? Do we need callbacks or have you seen enough to know what ten acts you're going with? Charlie, as soon as all of this info is confirmed, can you lash it up on the website? I'll also have cast listings for the two one-act plays to go up. Dave, can you talk to Jay about the possibility of getting a tech workshop for Wednesday night? And check that the venue is free of course...? We have another acting workshop on Thursday night, 7pm - We'll need the Venue. Joe M, can you see about this? Cheers. Dear Sarah, As the Technical and Equipments officer of the DCU Drama Committee, I wish to present the following issues to the SU on behalf of our society. During the SU Freshers Ball, the Portable Lighting system (which is the property of DCU Drama, and not the SPC/SU) was removed from the SPC storage room (upstairs in the HUB) without any permission, or even notification to the committee. When the lights were returned, they were left lying on the floor OUTSIDE of the equipment room. Only for the fact that I happened to be passing by they would have spent the weekend sitting in the pool area, which has proven to be especially unsafe, given the recent theft of a large amount of equipment belonging to Anime/Manga Soc. When I plugged the lights in to make sure they were still working, I found that 3 bulbs had been broken. These are specialist bulbs, and do not come cheap, and as a result we will be forwarding an invoice for replacements shortly. Later on that same night, as the SU cloakroom was filling up, Shea McNelis asked me if he could borrow some coat hangers from the Drama Society. After looking in the SPC room, I found that the only hangers we had were being used to store clothes. Shea told me that if we let him borrow them, he would have someone put the clothes back on the hangers the next day. In the interest of forging a good relationship between Drama and the SU, I agreed. More than a week and a half later, this still hasn't happened yet. Drama's costumes are still in a pile on the floor, and I have received a number of complaints from both the SPC and other societies about the state of the room. We cannot clean up until we get the clothes back on the rail. I have also received a complaint from Mark Boyle about the sound system in the Venue. This is what i propose sending to the SU. I still can't think of a good way to close this. Anyone got anything they'd add/change? Shea told me that if we let him borrow them, he would have someone put the clothes back on the hangers the next day. In the interest of forging a good relation between Drama and the SU, I agreed. More than a week and a half later, this still hasn't happened yet. Dramas costumes are still in a pile on the floor, and I have recieved a number of complaints from both the SPC and other societies about the state of the room. We cannot clean up until we get the clothes back on the rail. I have also recieved a complaint from Mark Boyle about the sound system in the venue. Text attached: ===== was in the venue last night and whoever did the sound for the SU gig last week moved the FX rack from the balcony to behind the stage and left it there. (If memory serves, it usually takes 2-3 people to move the rack even a few meters because it's so damm heavy, so moving it back is going to be fun.) They also removed several parts from it and left them lying on the floor and on the table on the balcony. Several lights (Destroyers I think) were taken from somewhere and left lying on the floor. I can't recall where the sound desk is gone to but I dont think it's on the table. Basically all the work we paid Derek to do over the summer was undone and the place is more of a mess than any society has ever left it. At the moment it would be difficult if not impossible for anyone to hold an event there. ==== I know that Shea has only been on the staff a short while, but I still think that this is no excuse.
