Hey guys,
Sorry about the late notice but unfortunately we've had to cancel Console Gaming today. This is due to booking conflicts with the Venue and the SU's continued use of the Seminar Room on Wednesdays.
Lab Gaming will run as usual tomorrow at 6pm in C204.

Hi all,
Thanks to everyone who came to last week's events and made Games Week a success, hope you all enjoyed seeing the PS3.
The Super Smash Bros. Tournament will be on Wednesday from 2pm this week in the Seminar Room. There'll be free food and prizes and stuff... also, there won't be any entry fee. We'll also have a few other consoles set up for anyone who's not interested.
Lab Gaming is on in C204 as usual from 6pm on Thursday.
For those of you playing in the Dawn of War Campaign, there have been a few updates so keep an eye on the forums for the latest on that one.

Hey,
Just a quick mail with a few notices and reminders.
There were a few people unable to attend yesterday's Super Smash Bros. tournament due to a few problems with scheduling and a little misinformation. We've
+decided to re-run the tournament next week to accommodate those of you couldn't play, so it'll be on next Wednesday at Console Gaming, with more prizes and
+stuff.
Retro Gaming is on this Wednesday at 2 and we'd like as many of you as possible to bring along consoles and TVs again. It should be more packed than last time
+so we'll need all the equipment we can get our hands on.
Xbox Live Centre trip is also on that day, so anyone interested can talk to us at Retro, or post to the forums.
Dawn of War Campaign kicks off this Thursday and it will also be played at Lab Gaming.
A few of you haven't collected your hoodies and we'd like if you'd come in and get them. We have several people waiting for more, so if you don't collect them they'll be given to someone else in a few weeks.
Enjoy the week,
Kevin

Following this talk well be running our Console Event which will again
feature the Playstation 3 except this time you guys will be able to have a

Hey guys,
Games Soc will be out in force for this year's Rag Week to raise money for charity, here's what's happening:
* Monday - Pacman and Blinky collecting money for charity around DCU.
* Tuesday - Pro Evolution 6 Tournament with lots of prizes!
* Wednesday - Pacman and Blinky in Celebrity Wedding and Console Gaming.
* Thursday - Kat Farrell bungee jumping for charity and Lab Gaming.
-Monday-
Pacman and Blinky will be touring the DCU campus on Monday looking for money for charity, so if you see them make sure to donate. There'll be a few Games Soc badges on offer to those too!
-Tuesday-
Games Soc's Pro Evolution Soccer 6 Tournament aims to find out who is DCU's best Pro Evo player really is. It could be me. We'll have people from the Xbox Live Centre out so the Seminar Room will be full of Xbox 360s. There will be an excellent range of prizes. The game's sponsors, Reebok, will be bringing out footballs, jerseys, hoodies and lots of Pro Evo Gear. There'll be copies of the game and even a 5.1 Surround Sound system up for grabs.
Signups start at 12 in the Seminar Room and the competition should be starting at 1. Entry is 3 euro for members, and 5 euro for non members. Everyone can play, so tell your friends. Remember, the whole event is completely for charity, ALL entry fees and ALL money raised are going straight to the chosen Rag Week charities, so even if you're not a fan of football games you should come along.
-Wednesday-
Clubs and Socs Day 2, so we'll be setting up a stand in the Hub for any new members who want to join for 2 euro. Console Gaming starts at 2 as usual in the Seminar Room.
Also on Wednesday is the Celebrity Wedding show event thing, which for some reason is featuring Pacman and Blinky! It certainly sounds quite silly, but it's all for charity so it should be a laugh anyway, it starts at 2.
-Thursday-
Finally, on Thursday, Games Soc's own Kat Farrell is going to Bungee Jump for charity. Jumps start at 12, so make sure you stop by and donate some cash.
These mails appear to be getting longer every week... make sure to read the one next week, as it contains details about... Games Week!

Hey all,
Welcome back to college, hope the exams went well for you all. If not, then I'll probably be seeing you in August!
- Console Gaming + EGM on Wednesday
- Society get together in the Big Tree, also on Wednesday
- Lab Gaming on Thursday
- Rag Week
Console Gaming is back on at 2 in the Seminar Room this Wednesday, but beforehand we'll be having an EGM to vote in our new constitution and (providing the constitution is voted in) to elect someone to the position of Ordinary Member. This is a new position being added to the Games Soc Committee to help us cope with the additional workload we have due to the major expansion of the soc this year. Any current member can run for the position but one of the main responsibilities will be helping out with the running of lab gaming, so experience with game servers and linux is advised. The Ordinary Member may also get to wear the Pac-Man costume. The EGM starts just before Console Gaming at 1.30 so you might as well come and vote and stuff. Hoodies will be there for collection, so the... ten of you (I counted) that haven't picked them up yet can do so then.
We're having a back to college get together later on that night too. We'll be heading to the Big Tree for a few drinks at around 9 and if you'd like to join us then you're more than welcome!
Lab Gaming starts again this Thursday at 6 in C204.
As most of you will be aware, next week is Rag Week in DCU and to do our part for charity we'll be running a huge Pro Evolution 6 Tournament for the entire college, with ALL of the proceeds going to charity. There'll be some excellent prizes on offer too. More details on this next week.
So ummm, that's all. Hope to see you guys around during the week and good luck with Semester 2. As always keep an eye on the website and the forums for more info.

Hey guys,
Yeah, firstly I have to apologise for that subject line. Simon (our esteemed Chairperson) insisted I use it...
Anyway...
- Console Gaming, Wednesday from 2pm in the Hub.
- Hoodies ordered!
Our last event of the year will be this Wednesday when once again we'll have Console Gaming set up around the Hub, with, as you may have guessed from that delightfully witty *cough* subject line, one Nintendo Wii, which is being brought along by one of our beloved members. So whether you're just curious or you've already found out how much fun they are, come to the Hub tomorrow for some Wii Sports, Monkey Ball and whatever else we can get our hands on. It goes without saying that anyone with any Wii pads or games can bring them along.
Thanks to all of you that came to the Christmas Party we had with Drama and Redbrick last Thursday, it was a really great night and the place was completely packed.
Hoodies have finally been ordered! We should be getting them delivered soon so if those of you who've ordered want them before Christmas, give your money to one of the committee at Console Gaming tomorrow or pay straight to the account here: http://games.redbrick.dcu.ie/about/join.php and we'll organise a time for you to pick it up.
Finally, the Games Soc committee would like to wish all of our members a Merry Christmas (we're so nice!). Good luck with the exams too!
See you tomorrow, or next year if you can't make it,
