As already stated, the event itself will be kicking off at around 1pm in
the Venue and will continue through the night until around 3pm on Sunday.
There will be a whole host of things going on from file sharing and nice
fast web access to the most important part, gaming!
We'll be playing a whole selection of games from Battlefield 2, Quake 3,
Unreal Tournament to Rome: Total War and of course the venerable
Counter-Strike.
We have a few places left so if you want to come please let us know as
soon as possible to avoid any disappointment.
Now the final particulars for those who are coming...
1. Please mail us your full name and student number as soon as possible.
2. Make sure you have all the latest updates for your facvourite games so
we don't need to waste time downloading patches, this also includes STEAM.
3. Make sure and bring network cable with you.
4. Please bring any power extension cords you have, the more the merrier
really.
5. If you need a monitor please confirm this by mail as soon as possible.
6. *VERY IMPORTANT* Make sure and disable all shared connections and
Windows shares and turn off "Automatic IP address" on any LAN connections.
Now thats everything. I must stress the importance of replying to this
mail asap for those that are coming. The sooner we get your info the more
prepared we can be before you guys arrive. Also having all of the above
done with your own PCs will ensure the LAN gets up and running asap and
there are no unnecessary delays.
Looking forward to seeing all you guys there!

Hey folks,
This is just a quick reminder that we're running our last Test BYOPC
(Bring Your Own PC) LAN on September 3rd and 4th.
Places have been snapped up fairly quickly and we only have 6 places left
so if you want to come please let us know as soon as possible as we need
to inform security of the exact numbers coming and we also intend having
the place completely set up for the required numbers before you arrive.
Anyway we're looking forward to seeing you all there and it should be a
fantastic event.

Hey folks,
As some of you already know we, the fine people at your local Games
Society, are finally going to be running our last Test BYOPC (Bring Your
Own PC) before the main events start in the new term. As such we've
decided to keep the numbers down and keep it an invite only event, hence
if you get this mail you're special there's no need to gloat about it. :)
Anyway, the event itself will be kicking off on Saturday, September 3rd at
around 1pm in the Venue and will continue through the night until around
3pm on Sunday. There will be a whole host of things going on from massive
amounts of file leeching and nice fast web access to the most important
part gaming!
We'll be playing a whole selection of games from Battlefield2, Quake 3,
Rome: Total War, Unreal Tournament and of course the venerable
Counter-Strike.
Food and drink may be brought to the event as long as you're careful with
it, any spillages on other peoples machines will be resolved with a
spading. Pizza will also be ordered around midnight for you lazy people
with too much money.
You will be required to provide your own PC however if you require a
monitor we will be able to provide one, 4 way power adapters and network
cable. We would also ask you to make sure you're games are fully patched
before attending if at all possible. Also please make sure and disable any
statically set IP addresses on your network connections (set them to
"Receive IP Automatically") and disable any shared Internet connections
such as your dial-up account.
What we'd also like all of you to do is let us know whether you'll be
attending as soon as possible as we need to inform security of the exact
numbers and we also intend having the place completely set up for the
required numbers before you arrive.
As I've said this is a test event for future events and hence invites have
been sent to you and to you alone because you are trusted "friend" of
GamesSoc. This is not open to the public so don't go bringing your
friends. However, if you have someone you would like to suggest who is not
on the list feel free to mail us, however make sure and do it quickly!
Anyway we're looking forward to seeing you all there and it should be a
fantastic event.
